The “RF Power Amplifiers Inc.” is a division of
Industrial Test Equipment Co., Inc. which was founded in 1952.
Until 1990, Industrial Test
Equipment manufactured AC power supplies and power amplifiers to cover
the frequency range of 10Hz to 20KHz. At that point, Industrial Test
Equipment Co., Inc. decided to push the frequency up into the radio
frequency range. That is why they formed the RF Power Amplifier
division. After years of effort, the upper frequency limit of the
power amplifiers was pushed up to 1MHz and later to 2MHz. A single
power amplifier that could cover the frequency range from 10Hz to 2MHz
did not exist before “RF Power Amplifiers Inc.” developed its latest
models.
For frequencies below 1MHz,
transmission lines are not necessary for the transportation of the
output power from the power amplifier to the load if the load,
especially in the case that
the load is not too far way from the power amplifier (less than 200
feet). Hence, we equipped the output impedance of the power amplifier
to be zero ohms, which can enable the highest efficiency from the
power amplifier and make the load matching much easier, especially
when there is a reactive load. For applications that involve transmission
lines for transportation of power, our power amplifiers can be easily
changed into either 50 ohms or 75 ohms, depending on the application.
